So quick test tonight. Wired a nicad direct to motor and check the gearbox and clutches. My god is this thing powerful! The clutches work a dream and soo much torque to the drive wheels.
Now time to get stripping and cleaning more.

Hi will  What parts are you looking for exactly ? ???
I assume once you review the build sheet you should have a better grasp on your build list.

I was able to use an IBU2 and operate the clutch system with a servo. Then you have a good runner with sounds

The Barrel which i think is D10 on the D-parts sprue, but yet to find a part no.

The plastic side fenders, don't know what sprue they are off, but i wonder if there are some cheap broken ones around or maybe i can try to make some out thin brass sheet?

Rear drive tensioning idler on one side, not sure if ones off other 1/16 tanks will work?

Rear tensioning idler arm for same side. ALthough i have found from TimeTunnel Models and they appear available for £7.19.

As for the electrics to run her i gonna keep it simple. I have no idea what will be the right way to go, but i will first see how she runs once finished and then choose whether to modify or even to sell her. I know it sounds mad, but it all depends how well she runs. I may even be scared to use her due to the age, but i have always wanted a King Tiger. So lets see.
I am always on the eye out for cheap unloved tanks to play around with and upgrade and choose whether they are for me or if someone else would get more use out of them. Then i can sell on in cases to purchase something new.
You will see from my other off topic comments i have too many projects in all shapes and sizes, so i try to keep costs to minimum with my RC stuff and try to get them to pay for themselves if possible.

Will over the years I've dissected a number of these early King Tiger tanks. Let me look in my parts bin and see what I have collected. I may have a complete rear idler tensioner system and a set of fenders. Post shouldn't be too bad and I don't want any money for the parts if I have them

Wow. Many many thanks for the offer :)
I am happy to cover costs so let me know. I take a lot of satisfaction out of doing something up and saving it from the brink. Means I can make it my own i know you know what I mean.
Saved a lot of things in the past so it be great if we can save this old King aswell :)
Thanks again

Please let me know postage costs.
South Scotland. I can pm address and i can PayPal across.

Interestingly how did you create such bending, was this a soldering iron and pliers job? I haven't plucked the courage to try anything like this yet. Definitely makes them look a lot more realistic.

I am going to turn a full alloy barrell so need diameters and lengths etc. Can anyone help please?
Not going to fire anything out of it, but will bore it out so can fit flash unit or LED or similar if decide to in future
