The plastics SW use and the way SW print won't be as strong as molded plastic. Printed metal would probably be strong enough but then there's all the problems of shrinkage and print orientation you'll need to take into account when designing the parts.

That's why most of my parts are cosmetic or take very little stress.

In case you weren't aware, Shapeways doesn't design anything, all they do is print designs that designers store on their system. Hence, if no one designs something that you require then Shapeways don't have any resource to do so, and it won't be available unless they do.

3D printed parts, even in ABS or PLA are quite strong, I've printed all sorts of things and they don't break or wear out. There is a limit to how narrow a part can be before it becomes flexible or fragile, but that is also true of say, styrene or styrene rod/tube etc.

I've seen people design parts that are very intricate, so my guess is that yes it would work. If printing at home, just use 100% infill so that it is solid plastic.

All of the parts for the bogie are pretty big and solid, so as long as the part that contains the spring allowed for free movement, it should be possible...though as with anything else you never know until you try. :thumbup:

I took a quick look on Google images and it doesn't look like anyone has ever created a 3D printable STL file for these.

DKLM do a full set & tracks for the HVSS system. I think Shapeways have the bogeys, but good luck with the tracks.

I’ve been after a 1/16 German bicycle for a while, I knew in a month of Sunday’s my printer couldn’t print one.
I found one on Shapeways for less than £20 so I thought sod it & ordered one.
It arrived this morning, I’m blown away with the detail, it’s fantastic.
Due to how thin the parts are it’s quite delicate like you’d imagine, but it does flex rather than snap.
