I came across this company and wonder whether anyone has had dealings or knows anything about them.

I certainly looked at their stock, Richard. You'd think that with outlets in several other countries, and being (it's claimed) ' Europe's largest model and hobby superstore', that they would have a good stock of Tamiya tank bits in. Not so.
I've checked at various intervals for parts I needed for my Pz IV project, and they were either not in stock or, more myteriously, in 'shadow stock'....

Sounds sinister
Trust Pilot has a good rating for them here and elsewhere; but how trustworthy Trust Pilot is, is another matter. I recall the minor scandal of all those paid for positive reviews on Amazon, I suspect the same skulduggery might be involved- at least to some extent- with TP.

Maybe not.
I've used Wonderland models in Edinburgh successfully a few times. By contrast with Wheelspin, they have mixed reviews on Google, and 'Yell'. Maybe because they're a Scottish firm (too tight)

they're no prepared to cough up for paid for reviews..
Only joking, of course, Wheelspin!

I have been a customer of Wheelspin for my R/C Aircraft and shadow stock simply means its not in the warehouse but is available from another site and you will get the item a week or two later than normal.
They are a good dealer if you are into R/C Aircraft and accessories and they keep in touch with you during the order process. And if the order is urgent you can go to their Midlands warehouse and collect it.
Probably best wait for the Postie in your case Roy.
Shaun.

I had a look, and they say shadow stock is stored in a secondary warehouse and takes longer before despatch. Make of that what you will. Their stock levels are on a par with Axel's, though overall I would say slightly better.
Edit: Shaun just beat me to it.

Have nae fear, Shaun, I won't be sourcing any more Pz IV components for the foreseeable future. I could almost have got a budget ( special offer) flight to the USA for the delivery costs of my order with the AAF Museum.
In fact, I only need the flash unit now (I'd overlooked that), and all remaining desiderata parts are in the the post- I hope....
Interesting to hear your experience with Wheelspinmodels. I'd rather be swayed by a trusted source here (your good self

), than by two hundred online reviews.
