Amusing Hobbies (Where do they find these names?) Has released a number of unusual and scarce Tanks in 1/35 including the Conqueror, when is a 1/16 variant going to appear, ?
My only hope is that if a mainstream manufacturer ever gets around to making the "Cent" that because it shares the same "Horsemann" suspension system it would make a Conqueror more viable.

Good morning,
I eventually want to build one of each of the 'Cold War is imminent' heavy tanks from England, the U.S. and Russia. The 'Pike' can already be realized but the Conqueror and the M-103, not so much without a ton of custom plastic work. I am following along and keeping sight of those odd releases out there as well, my Friend. Thank you for the heads up on the Amusing offerings. ( Ludwigs M-48 really got me to sit up and take notice )
regards,
Painless

Good morning, mcevoyi,
It is really good to see that you still have this one and plan to finish it. I could not remember if you had sold it on. Speaking of a "ton of work", this tank really showcases what is currently needed to have one in 1/16 scale.

Hi painless
I totally agree that there are lots of big gaps in the 1/16 armour range of tanks
And as much as it pains me to say there is a big lot of armour we all want to see the there is at lease 5 off the top of my head I can think of.......
The big manufacturers like HL are not really much more than produces of toys
And only interested in quick production lead times and mass market appeal
And the likes of torro. . Imex .... are really just hop ups form HL tanks ..they to date have not produced there own new tank ..all that have done is add a garrbox here and there a new board ..and some metal detail and quadrupled the price ...taken for a ride seems to come to mind ...
As much as I love some of the smaller cottage industry production company's I know find it so hard to see how they justify the huge cost of some of there kits which are basically laser cut sheets of plastic .. I actually feel like we're being held hostage to our chosen hobby .., and don't start me on the cost of tamiys kits
I am so very fortunate that God gave me the skill to bash plastic and come up with the builds that I have over the years ... and as for future builds yes I do have a plan ..
And will do several lesser know UK armour and also so more US armour with a sprinkle of Russian .. I am perpously staying away for ww2 German simply because it's been done time over time and again .... can't belive that hoobins have just done yet another tiger 1 .......
Give me strength ......

In the 1/35 realm I rather like this Tamiya Matilda 111/IV. The turret detail on this version in Russian livery is superb. If only they could inflate it up to 1/16 scale..

Then again, there is the Ludwig option in 1/16 in the pipeline, I think...

But at what cost?

Ah..well, there's a question, Richard.

I think the answer will be- 'one arm and one leg', as that appears to be the regular bill for a Chris Ludwig build.
Still, if one
really wants it, then the sacrifice- albeit metaphorical- will be worth it. At present, there is no other potential source of a 1/16 Matilda or a Centurion- for that matter- beyond a radical build from blueprints.
Freddy ('Panzerjaeger') mentioned the prospect of Matilda kits being available when he posted the prototype build here. No news recently though.
