Thought I would drop this one in here, I should really do the limber as well but reversing will be diabolical, and it will need a huge turning circle

Just practice.
Grandad reckoned it was easier than reversing some farm equipment! He got a fair bit of practice zig zagging his way up Italy.

I like the truck.
How did you do the 25 pounder?

The Quad and the gun are 3D printed, so I had to design both myself using Openscad. It was a pretty complex pair of models to do, but they worked out ok in the end. The chassis is a shortened HL one, converted to 2WD, with 3D printed battery/rx tray and front suspension mount.
I have a minor problem with the HL transmission, the driveshaft doesn't seem to be firmly located and I can hear it clicking when it slips. It's odd because I didn't move the rear axle or the gearbox? I'll sort that out at some point.

Nice work there.
As for clicking, all my HL trucks do that and I think it is the drive shaft angle. But doesn't seem to do any harm.

Thanks for letting me know that yours do it too. It looks like the two halves don't get pushed up against each other?

If you mean the diff covers then you need to align the pins and bolt holes as they only fit in 2 directions it 4. I think that makes sense.
All of mine are a tight fit and pull straight and flat. They do pinch together with a click when tightening.
The other click is also from the spring leaf moving in the hangers. But i intend fixing that with swing mounts

I assumed it was the two cylindrical parts of the driveshafts not mating up properly, I'll check the springs though.

After a lot of looking at it I found the source of my click. The front drive shafts are disconnected, the one coming off the gearbox had a small piece of plastic left on it that was knocking the back of the steering servo. It only did it when the suspension compressed slightly when turning. I cut it off and bingo, noise gone.

bonus
As for driveshafts apparently on Taobao online China shop they now sell metal driveshafts for these trucks, but i cannot find anyone else.
But my rear one has started to pop out under load and i am thinking about either trying to buy or make some on my Lathe which i just bought
