Good morning,
This is ambitious and coming along very well. A dollop of patience is called for when working on 1/6 scale armor. The anticipation balances it all out. ;o) Following along.
regards,
Painless

Working with the Cupola, it didn't come with assembly instructions so I began my research. So far I have seen wartime photos with the hatch opening to the 3 o clock position {right side of the Tank}, the 12 o clock position {forwards} & the 6 o clock position {rear}. I've even seen pictures of the Cupola having split hatches similar to the Panzer III & IV, it might of even had the Panzer III & IV Cupola as well?
So I think it's down to taste so i'm going install the hatches opening to the Tanks right & the signal port will open forwards.
I now need to figure out how to attach the hinges to the Cupola to make them secure.
I'm still waiting on the uparmour kit.

I sprayed the Turret a Halfords Audi Dokota Grey & then ran out of paint. When I went to buy more they had none in stock so I bought a darker colour. It isn't suitable so all the parts will receive a respray once I've bought the correct colour.

Once again I have been working on the turret. Today I was mostly making weld beads. I follow John Grima of East coast Armouries & the way he does things. However today I was lazy, instead of mixing up some Milliput I used a hot half moon wood chisel to carefully make the welds using masking tape to keep with in the lines. The end result isn't to bad.

Once again I've been working on the turret. Today was fitting the lift hook. This involved moving the top rear lift hook to the back of the turret . I've used scale mini fixings as recommended by ECA

Thanks for the encouragement! I think the weld marks will come out better once the vehicle has been camouflaged , given an Ink wash and dry brushed. It is long slow process. I think i'll be buying some inserts for the periscopes once I've finished painting.

The main gun isn't attached yet & the Cupola isn't fixed permanently in place either. The Main Gun is the one that came with the model. The only thing I have done is drill out the flash hiders holes. There is still plenty to do to the Turret regarding paint! Then I have to consider what year & what unit. I think i'll be aiming for 1943 if my information works out.
