Hi,

Probably like a few of you, as a previous customer of Profiline kits before it was sold to Asiatam, I received the following email from Stepan which is of general interest. Louis

"Dear Modellers,
we would like to inform you restarting the production of conversion sets for RC tank models at 1:16 scale.
They will be brand new sets, our original production under the brand name „Profiline“ has a new owner in Germany. The new kits will therefore be produced under my name Stransky.
The first novelty is the tank turret „Gajka“ on the T-34/76 tank.
Other upcoming sets will be, soviet self-propelled gun SU-85 based T-34/85, Soviet heavy tank KV-1s "Skorostnyj" or american M4 Sherman with a composite hull. Sets are made of high quality resin and carefully processed. They also include masks and decals for color application. We will be happy for your views and suggestions for new sets.

Let me wish you a happy and successful New Year 2018

Best regards
Stepan Stransky"

Thanks a lot for posting that very interesting bit of news, Louis. How open to suggestion the new enterprise will be remains to be seen, but I think many here will want to make recommendations. Painless mentioned 'Profiline' products only recently, and I expect he and others will follow the transition keenly. Maybe they- Profiline/Asiatam- could be persuaded to produce an upper hull and turret for a British tank.
Now that would be a shot in the arm (though not an 88mm :D ) to many here, I'm certain. Asiatam, I'm lukewarm about personally, but perhaps they'll be more responsive and communicative with increased demand.
Then again.... :eh:

Good evening,
This is quite interesting. Is this Stransky fellow associated with Asiatam. I had purchased my early StuG lll B kit from them and was pleased with it. Sounds like another new start for the line of kits.
Thank you for the heads up, Louis,
regards,
Painless

My understanding was he sold the tooling/rights to the name asiatam who are completely separate to this new enterprise.

I've got the asiatam profline brumbar and it's ok. But not a patch on the original profline stuff who's casting was really too.drawn, somhabing him back in the game is great!

Some good news there Louis, thanks for sharing. I've only heard good things about Profiline's old kits, so having the man himself back in the game can only be for the better. I love the hexagonal T-34/76 turret, having a conversion kit is much more convenient than the Trumpeter route I took. Here's hoping a Uralmash turret is on the cards, soon. ;)
