Taigen IR Battle problems

Hey everybody!

Today I tried to have an IR battle with a friend.
We both have taigen tanks with the v2 control board. My tank is 1 year old his is brand new.
It seems his tank is unable to hit mine. He fires but tank does not react :( Other way around everything is ok.
We swapped the IR receivers - same problem.
We checked the IR Led on his tank - this one is fine.
Both tanks react to a simulated hit from my universal ir remote control.
So it is pretty sure that my tank is not the problem.

Any suggestions what I could check next?

Are you absolutely sure that both of you are using the same Taigen board?

Because this is the exact same thin I experienced, when I testet my Panzer IV with the new board, against my T34 and Pz III with the older board.

Arnie's right, if yours is a year old and his is brand new I'm assuming he has the newer version with the sound card? If so they are currently not compatible to ir battle.

Thanks for the video! This is the exact behavior of my Panzer IV!

@c.rainford73 My Panzer IV has the external soundcard and I use my own 2.4GHz remote.

I think I'll have to check the other tank. It might be possible that even if he just bought it it could be an old model.

Currently, only the new Panzer IV and III comes with the new 2.4ghz installed.

So If he got, lets say a Tiger or a T34, he have the old card without the soundcard installed.

Do you remember how his tank sounded? Was his sound better or worse than yours?

Great sound = New Board
Meh sounds = Old Board

Erik at IMEX claims that the V2 and V1 boards are compatible for IR battling.

Do we have evidence to the contrary? I ordered a V2 board for my Tiger 1 and I have a V1 in my Jagdtiger and it will be very disappointing if they do not play together.

Erik said on RCU that the US version of the board have been modified since the European release and he claims the US version of the V2 board is IR compatible with the V1 board. I have asked for a video or other proof of this, but he never gave other than his word.

So in short. EU-V2 is NOT compatible with the V1 board, but the US-V2 is.

Talked to Dominique at Rctank.de and he told me this new V2 board, should become available in the EU around Christmas(the one we just had).

I have a V2 board I haven't gotten around to installing yet. I'll try to get it in this week and test it. I'll post a video when I do.
