Willy Jeep! 1/16

So I have been thinking (oh dear) and wondering what other vehicle I need to support the expanding fleet of RC vehicles.
It goes without question that a Willys jeep is required!
But I cannot find anything in the correct scale.
I have however found diecast 1/18 Willys Jeep and though maybe I could convert it to RC!
I am thinking that the Heng long/WPL truck axles may even be right size if I can do something with the wheels and making the driveline a lot shorter.
Or is there an easier route with a known 1/16 kit?

Hi will,
There is a 1/16 willys jeep made by Danbury mint, this is also a diecast static model but is very detailed and can be on the expensive side to butcher to convert to rc. Keep an eye out on ebay though as they do come up at a reasonable price from time to time, I have one which I keep just as a display piece with my tanks
Cheers, Lee.

Hi Will,
If you have a 3D printer I can point you towards the models. If not here’s one that I’ve been doing little bits on for a while...

Might make a project with a tamiya gearbox

or even a 360 degree servo
Can you publish the link for the stls please?
Thanks

That jeep looks cool. Nice printing.
But for me I work without printer staying old skool.
Have found KDW diecast jeep that could be cut up

Hi Alwyn,
Just search Thingiverse for Ossum Jeep, it’s 1/10 so will need shrinking a little.....
Ossum is the original but there are loads of variations, LWB, hotrod etc etc
