25pdr Artillery gun
Someone asked me to do one of these, so as I have made some progress on printing the parts, I thought I would post up some pics. I originally placed all of the rivets in the design, but Openscad doesn't like rendering spheres, let alone several hundred of them, it just hangs with no rendering progress at all, so I had to remove them. I will try printing flat plates with them on that can be glued onto the carriage etc.
Each of the parts shown is one piece, nothing is glued together.

Going to be interesting. Do your intentions run to the limber and quad as well? It would make a very novel rc unit.

Just the gun, and designing that alone is not an easy task. It all has to go together as a kit would.

Did the wheel design. No tread on the tyres, it is very difficult to replicate the pattern...and yes, I did try!

I know absolutely nothing about 3D Printing but if you printed a Hex Axle that could take an aftermarket standard 1/16 wheel and tyre it would save you trying to print a tread on your tyre..

Re: 25pdr Artillery gun
It could be done with a Lego tyre, the ask for this model was for a 25pdr for battlefield scenery, doing it this way keeps the cost down. If I ever get an HL truck and make a Brit tow vehicle, this could be converted to a rolling gun with a bit of work. It's not that big, but it is a complex print, so each part takes a few hours.

I don't know what the person who asked for this has in mind by way of a diorama, but if a gun crew would be appropriate, then i would suggest they keeps their eyes open for a 1/18 scale F1 pit crew, preferably not Tyrrell, as that is what I used for your 6" howitzer. I happily offer my services, if required, to do the conversion.

Re: 25pdr Artillery gun
If the gun only weighed 25lbs why wasn't it just carried by a guy? 25lbs, wheels and a trailer? Really?
LOL! GOTCHA! kidding, I know better, looks great so far sir.
