Leopard 2A6 boards

Hello everyone!
What do you all recommend using to replace the stock HL board on the Leopard 2? Evidently, the only boards I can consider are the IBU 2, IBU 3, and the Clark model 22.
What are your suggestions, and what is the difference between each of these? I understand that I have to remove and resolder existing wires and parts to be compatible with these boards, and this will be my first time doing so. How do I approach this? And before you ask why I want to do so - I just see the project tanks here and on YouTube; and I just want mine to be able to do the same.
What do you guys suggest?

Hello there  There are many to choose from. It's a matter of preference and Image. I have several different types I currently use and they are all a little different. It's really a matter of preference and what you tank requires that will help you make your decision.

For entry level boards some are a little more challenging to setup but once you figure it all out its very easy and fun.

For me depending on the application ( I prefer it recoil servo setup versus airsoft) but that's my choice not a reccomendation

A simple Clark tk22 board is very versatile and with a bit of reprogramming from the TV remote very easy to personalize.

For entry level airsoft I'd go with an IBU2 since its pretty much plug and play.

Want more bells and whistles.....

Then you have the Clark tk60 and tk24 ( even the newest sbus versions) you can get 8 channels of operation for switches and controls. Great sounds tooImage

There's also the newest IBU2 Ultimate. Again very little soldering if any and many options

The other way is the Open Panzer board that is also airsoft unit friendly and fun, but need seperate speed control and sound card.

The higher prices are for the Elmod fusion ECO and PRO. Very nice board and simple to setup.

Hope I haven't overwhelmed you Image

Yes, yes you have. I have an airsoft tank, I don't intend on making it an infrared yet; I'd like to change up the 320 degree turret ring and change the battery. The metal tracks and sprockets, and the new gearbox I have added with 380 motors is making it really back heavy, and is eating into the battery when I run it off road. In all actuality, I intend on converting it into an A7 or A7+ with the mods from DKLM.
But for now, the electronics are a bit of a mess. I don't mind sticking with the stock speaker and the sounds the tank makes, but with regard to the Clark TK24, is it possible to stay with the same transmitter? The 22 is very appealing but the reprogramming with a TV remote piqued my curiosity; how is this accomplished?
I believe the IBU 2 is a good board also, but don't I need to change pins on some of the connections?

I also saw the prices for these boards; RIP wallet.

Hi there. As far as batteries go are you running a high output NiMh pack? If so maybe contemplate a change to a Lipo pack and your run times will improve. ( From experience)

As far as programming with a Sony remote, it's not as complicated as it sounds once you get the hang of it. You will need to do a bit of rewiring and soldering if you choose the Clark boards. ( Not a daunting task but tedious)

The IBU can be programmed via the computer and SD card with (ini file changes) you want for your setup. ( I've never had to rewire for the IBU)

As for the radio, each board would require a hobby grade radio or at least 4-6 channels for operation.

The stock Heng Long radio would no longer be functional with these boards.

With my IBU's and Clark boards I've upgraded them all to Lipo battery packs

So the IBU will require a computer and an SD card reader.

The Clark will need a Sony remote ( or comparable remote) and programmer cable.

Both need a hobby grade radio

So then, IBU for ease of use - and Clark for those proficient in electronics.

Oh not necessarily. If you are running servo recoil and such both are very simple to use. Maxmekker also has a nice setup for the airsoft wiring he completed with the Clark board.

I've many Clark products and I am very happy with them.
