I just got one of those new MFUs from Imex/Taigen, the V2, the one you can use your own TX with. I hooked it up to a Turnigy i6 and it works quite well so far. A few installation bugs to work out, as with most of these things, but on the whole a fairly simple installation and the control gained with the i6 is really great, and the proportional turret rotation is very smooth. The sounds are good, and they've added shell ejection sounds that are pretty cool. There are still a few things I'd like to see in a stock board, like up/down barrel elevation similar to what's on the latest HL stuff, and of course we all know how much I hate that stupid track recoil (a tiny bit can be a cool effect, but I've yet to see a stock unit that wasn't waaaay too violent) so that was the first order of business. Just for kicks I threw in one of the ATRC2016 units I got a while back from Kevin Grannum at RCTA. I wasn't all that happy with the ATRC2016 because I only ever found one single MFU that it worked with. But, it did work great with that one so I threw it in with the new V2 and lo and behold, the danged thing works like a freakin' champ!! See for yourself

Now to hook up a Viper or RVC to control volume, and for an airsoft tank I think I'm all set. I did a lot of detail work on this little PIII but she is still airsoft so I'm quite happy with the electronics as they sit. Well, loosing the machine gun does suck, but until they make an IBU2 small enough to fit in this thing I'm runnin' with what we got. I'm thinking about adding a TC and an MG34, and maybe someday I'll get around to making the exhaust come out of the proper pipes. And of course I do have those new metal doors for the turret ... @) @) @)
