Taigen metal tracks

So I just got a set of metal tracks from Taigen for the Leo 2A6.

I don't know what I expected them to be like; possibly with the ends of the tracks attached to each other with pins, but I suppose I was being foolish.
Now I'm not sure where I can find the pins to attach the tracks together, or what tools to use for the task. I could use the pins from the stock plastic tracks that came with the Leopard when I bought it, but removing them is proving to be a bit of a pain (my fingers hurt because of the pushing).
Suggestions on attaching the tracks and what to use to make it a bit easier?

Also, on a side note - how do you fit 390 motors on those metal gearboxes when the brass cogs are too far from the base?

There should be a bag with extra track links and pins in the box

That's the thing. There was nothing but the tracks in there. :'(

Just so I've got it correct in my head, you've got two sets of assembled tracks which aren't joined at one end? Where did you get them.from?

The Taigen online shop. I've been trying to get a hold of the seller, Erik - but he hasn't replied to CS requests yet; I figured life got in the way or something, or maybe he's on vacation. Odin knows where he went.

He's pretty top notch at customer service. Might be worth shooting him a message on rcuniverse

I'll have a look on the forums. I'm a little apprehensive of tailing the bugger all the way to another forum though. :|

Any advice on the other questions though?

Can you provide a picture to show the gearbox issue?

So basically, this brass cog in the 390 motor is too far ahead, and is causing movement issues because it moves two different gears in opposite directions.
If you can see the white mark on the shaft of the motor, that's where the brass cog on the 380 motor is fixed (which is approximately half way to the bottom).Image
