I'll be there, would also mention that up the road, Simon(Greens Models) has a unit on the Waldegrave Estate. Bang opposite his unit is overgrown woodland, and the Earl, nice chap as he is, is having a load of trees chopped down and turning it into undulating grass? It won't be a public area, so I am thinking it would a great area to run tanks and trucks in during the summer weather.

Sounds promising. Hopefully, someone will keep the grass cut!

I am sure that he would get it cut if we asked nicely, he is a very down to earth guy, hates the establishment etc. Its still all overgrown at the moment.

Looking the Greens Models web site, it would appear he only deals in large scale trucks and rock crawlers. First of all, I'm surprised that is enough for a business and second, wouldn't it be great if he could be persuaded to move into the RC Tank world?

You probably think that an Earl is a guy who rides around on a white horse, wearing a suit of armour, the reality is that they are usually farmers, walk around in muddy boots and barbour jackets, and drive a beaten up Landrover. Most are trying to manage an estate, and generate income. This guy has a Romany camp on his land, a trading estate to help small businesses, and keeps his prices cheaper than anyone else. Interestingly the area of woodland that he is clearing used to have a 17 bedroom house on it during WW2. It was made available to US troops to use as a camp, but by the time the war was over, the house had been completely wrecked, so it had to be demolished.
There is old money and new money, you rarely see the old money people flashing their cash about, they live on the basics, and have little time for new money people who want to demonstrate to others how wealthy they are.

There is a large market globally, he has customers all over the planet, while I was there orders were coming in from Argentina and Russia. People have even travelled from Germany to see him, as well as from all over the UK.
He is unlikely to move into tanks, the current business is more than enough to cope with. Many of his customers have told him that they wished they hadn't bought trucks elsewhere as the support is non-existent when they hit problems with builds, getting upgrades and accessories that fit properly etc etc.
