Question about the
Torro KV-2 turret with infrared battle system.
- Does the turret come with the barrel elevation / depression mechanism?
- Does the turret come with the Heng Long barrel recoil?
- Does it fit the same turret ring / screws as the Heng Long KV-1 turret that comes with the HL KV-1 tank?

Good afternoon, Lert,
1. Yes
2. No ( Uses the Taigen type recoil )
3. Yes ( My 'Crackerbox Palace' KV-2 Build used a Taigen KV-1 metal version tank combined with the Torro KV-2 turret in IR...Same type of turret rotation gear mechanism )

Thanks for the answers!
How does the Taigen recoil work? Is there video footage of it in action?

Lert I'm sure there are a few videos online but Mr Maxmekker converted one to servo recoil and he did a nice video of it in action inside the turret. It at least gives you a glimpse of the inner workings

Lert!,
Apologies for the slow reply ( out in a storm shopping, etc ) Thanks to Mr. Carl for picking up my slack once again. *chuckles* Lert, the Taigen recoil is very snappy and strong then a slow slide forward. Folks say it is too fast but it seems fine to me. The recoil on the 'Palace' is fearsome to behold. A thunderous BOOM! and brilliant white light flash as the barrel slams back then returns to battery. The tank trembles and does a very, very small lurch backwards as it fires, quite unlike the HL version where it rolls backward. It really befits a KV-2. I also use a Taigen recoil and xenon system on my early StuG IIIB. The bulb is smaller but still very bright and the sound is less but the recoil functions are the same. There is a lot to be said for adjustable servos as well. I have them in a Tiger I am building now and I really like the performance.
regards,
Painless
