Russian Heavy JS-2 ( IS-2)

Here is another piece I have been working on with the help of Mr MichaelC Stian (Maxmekker) and Mr Tankbear (Ian) from the forum. Micheal built and designed this from a very unconventional setup. He combined a Heng Long lower with a Tamiya upper and a cast resin turret with a custom metal barrel and muzzle break. It has servo recoil. He calls it a poor man's JS-2.
Has resin road wheel details and much more. Mike can properly explain anything I've left out.
It has the rctanksaustralia battle unit mated to the IR system.
Ian worked behind the scenes creating excellent soundfiles for this particular piece and I installed the IBU2U he shipped me. I mounted the IBU with plastic circuit board standoffs to make it easier to get to the SD card and keep the board cool. It now has remote volume control and mated to my turnigy 9xrpro radio I can start and stop the engine with the flick of a switch and control many other functions like the smoker lights and volume from different pots and switches. Three different Russian machine gun sounds and three different Russian large cannon sounds
Changing the inertia curves, rate of recoil volume and smoker setting are a piece of cake with the computer.
While I was working on this I took it all apart and remodeled the lower hull interior to accomplish fitting the larger speaker and enclosure from Maxmekker and mated it to the IBU. It has a Tarr smoker routed to the upper hull superstructure.
I repainted everything with Tamiya enamels airbrushed as a base coat with many layers of wash with some gun metal dry pigments. Mig oil streaking grime and dark brown wash finished the model. The numbers are hand painted along with the identification stripes. I will post some video soon.
MichealC has been a very good friend through the whole process of purchase to final details. Very lucky to have people like Mike Ian and Stian a click away
