As I'm going to be getting a t-34/85 next week with a taigen IR turret to convert it and just wondered what if the Russians or a post war country thought of putting a T-34/85 turret on a sherman hull to up gun the tank

What I have found during my research is someone noted that an M-36 was fitted or attempted to be fitted with the massive 122mm gun from a js-2. If I find the article or picture I'll post it

Not sure if it ever happened

Here you go....
In Yugoslavia....
M-634 was a project using the V-2 engine from the T-34 in the Sherman, the new engine have the Sherman some extra horsepower and speed. Later the M-634 evolved into the SO-122 which changed the gun from a 75 mm gun to the Soviet A-19 122 mm

I'm going to be keeping the 85mm gun in the turret but it will be interesting to see how it looks

Absolutely, John. There's just as much fun to be had in the "what-ifs"!

Talk about a glass cannon! Very interesting find, Carl.

How did the US 76mm compare with the 85mm with appropriate ammunition? The benefit of switching the turret would also depend on the quality of the T34 gun optics etc. Maybe a good one for a bush war or apocalypse scenario build.

if I can find a 122mm gun for it then I'll do it with the gun but only way is a tamiya one but it would be a laugh when someone comes up and say they didn't do that
