Im considering gearing up from toy to hobbygrade.
Will the FS6 from china be a good TX/RX to start with? Im thinking of getting a RC5toHL from tank austrailia to play with before i decide what other aftermarked boards to go with. That way I can also waiit for Open Panzer to be bach and get some rewiuvs

If I were you I'd buy this one:

Its ugly, but its a great radio. Dont forget to buy a module, receiver and battery.

Ditto what Rad said my favourite radio and very flexible and reliable. Currently have all of my tanks working from this one radio

Excellent one you get used to it!

Dane, I did just this recently. First question is, do you currently have 27MHz Heng Long? RC5HL doesn't work with the newer 2.4G Heng Long boards AFAIK.
You might need to talk to Kevin at RCTanksAustralia first. He was a great help with my RC5HL conversion, and even supplied the radio set up to go, and did a custom YouTube video to help me install it. I used a Taranis QX7 and 6 Ch receiver. It has custom delays to simulate momentum.

Thanks fo replyes.
I have both 27 MHz HL and 2,4 GHz taigen.
I want something that is not to complicated as there are no RC klubs around here, where i could ask for help.
Another issue is that anything over 11 USD will be hit by massive custums fees, when posted from outside EU. The Chinese are nice enough to state low values when asked

Good to go then with the RC5HL.
Here is Kevin's instructions following his set-up of the radio:
