Re: FEHRMANN GRUPPE TIGER 05
Sometimes it’s the simple things in life that make a big difference!’
Got word that the new Taigen electronic set up is available from Ozarmour now, so will not be long until F05 is running.
The Tiger sound set is very good in these new systems and for $150 delivered, a good enough deal not to pass up.

Re: FEHRMANN GRUPPE TIGER 05
G'day guys, been a bit slow lately, had a month of crook family members .............kids, wife, oldest kid, wife, little kids, wife.......I hit the hardware in the joint with a bucket of super-shock chlorine, supposed to be for the pool.
Give you the tip, that stuff kills...................grout, skin on my hands, and hopefully- stuffn gastro germs.
Gave 05 a going over using my first go at the secret art of 'chipping' .............
Used a section of sponge used to pack electrical equipment.
Made a brew of acrylic paints used by artists(no-im not one! )to give the contrasting shade.
Blotted the paint off the sponge onto a paper towel, and applied it to bits that would probably be subject to wear from boots, ammo crates, narrow section armour, infantry hitch-hikers etc etc. Used a soft pencil to add a metallic effect to the chipped area once the paint was dry.
I need practice, but it will do.
Once chipped, used my matt seal to close the surface off.
After sealing, gave it a filter of MIG 1506 Brown for Dark Green. Its a lighter filter and as I had used a dark chipping shade, seemed to be a good choice.
Used a combination of MIG 1000 Brown wash for German Dark yellow in places that would likely receive a heavier coating of dirt & debris at the same time.
Gave the exhausts a going over, and painted the tracks.
Now my track colour is a mix of Tamiya hull red, , flat black, German dark grey, gun metal, and XF-28 dark copper.
No volumes sorry, but more like a dash of each with one for the chef !!
Couldnt resist fitting them just to see
Bunged on in the spring paint oven outside (oh God, summer is coming )
By the way, this didnt happen in a truncated timeframe, its been a while !!
Today in between cleaning duties, I got the pigment onto the tracks, roadwheels, and parts of the hull.
The new Taigen electronics are here, all I need to do is get them delivered.
Until they are fitted, I am limited to the completion.
Plan is to tie in the separate sections of hull upper & lower with pigment and wash, then dust over with Buff.
Soon soon.................then its Tamiya King Tiger time

Re: FEHRMANN GRUPPE TIGER 05
Cheers fella's, its getting there.
Got a lot more pigment on, and gave it a dusting of XF-55 Deck Tan.
Its almost ready, but I cant secure the hull sections until the electronics go in.
This week sometime for that.
Tow cable, bits & pieces to go on, last of the pigment & dust after the electronics are tested.
Its an ok version of what I believe F05 might have looked like, but the truth is lost to history.
Dry mud, dust, and plausible wear & tear of drawn out training in a repaired machine before being hurriedly armed & sent to fight for a short time.
