HL T-34

I just recently got into RC tanks and after 3 weeks in the hobby I now own 4 tanks, they are very addicting! I have a lot of experience with the mechanical side of RC from my years of racing, but this was my first shot at weathering/detailing. I ended up just using pastels in case I messed up. I didnt go for a super weathered look, just an active duty worn look. Further weathering will be provided naturally as my father and I run our tanks off road weekly. Yes, the mud on the tracks/wheels is real. There's no way I could have done that myself

As I said I'm very new to this so any tips or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Spraying clear coat over the dirt would definitely be interesting. I take the tanks out to the local trail just about every weekend, so it will always have a nice coat of mud/dirt on the tracks & wheels.
The T-34 is a great tank. It is surprisingly capable off road, it does much better than my Abrams. Then again, I dont think the Abrams was ever designed for that in the first place, its more of a desert/urban combat tank from what I've read.
Yea, once I get into something I kind of go crazy. My first was the HL Abrams, then I bought the T-34 to have something better off road. Then I saw an upgraded Tiger 1 on Ebay for cheap so picked that up. Just last night I bought this Sherman -

The guy with the Sherman happens to be local, should be picking it up tonight.
Some more pictures of the T-34 in the shade, I think the sun washed it out a bit.

Yes, I have been reading that section a lot. The one thing I'm sure of is that doing a really good job properly takes a lot of time. I have so many things going on that time is really at a premium. I might have to wait until over the winter to do some real modeling as I am just so busy in the summer between yard work, running the RCs, and my 1:1 scale race cars. The winter calms down a lot so should have a lot more time.

At this rate, you'll be swamped with tanks by the time winter gets here!

I'm really going to try and restrain myself for a while. Work on the tanks I have before I get any more. Unless any good deals come along of course...

I like your thinking. However, I fear your thoughts are far removed from what reality will have in store.

Might as well go ahead and build a storage building out back.
You're gonna need it!
