Adin's Tiger 1 build

Ok, so I made a start on the metal hull today. I don't think "fiddley" really sums up how awkward some of the screws bolts etc are. The first photo says it far better than I can. All opened bags are being re-sealed with electricians tape and then stored in an old tobacco tin.
I know every inch of the carpet below the computer desk now, and words can't describe the feeling you get when you drop something lol

This is the result of todays work

The track tensioner can be seen at the far end in this shot

A close up of the tensioner. There are 10 fiddley bits in this part alone!

More to follow  ;D

Carry on as you are Adin, slow and easy.
It will be worth it in the end.
Little tip, use a magnet to find dropped screws etc

Cheers

Thanks guys.

Still not too sure what colour to go for. Tank 332 which I am going to "losely" base mine on was born on the changeover from grey to yellow at the factories. There seems to be a good argument for her being yellow. But in all the pictures I've seen I cant make out any stripes, so it mat be that she was plain yellow(which would suit me as I'm new to airbrushes). I also have a load of yellow left over from the Panzer IV ;D

So if I'm kinda leaning towards a plain yellow 332 , which would make her unusual because most portray her in grey.

What do you guys think?

Ok here's last nights work - my back is playing up (I hate being old) so I can only do small stages at a time.

The torsion bars are now fitted giving the Tiger suspension. This is a cow of a job because if the bars slip whilst you twist them they lock up and wont go in or out, leading to much swearing and cussing lol

if its the tamiya German grey its pretty good i got it on my tiger, quite dark and gives the "stereotype" tiger tank colour ie the colour thats in 95% of films that have a tiger tank :P its also what i did my tiger with

It is indeed Tamiya German Grey. I looked at it and decided it was the colour I wanted. So I'm hoping to be able to primer it some time over the weekend. Also planning to take the Panzer IV out to the park and have a play with it as well.

Hdbeast - my back was playing up before I started building the tank. Think it was because I was working on my Mini last weekend, its the classic old Mini and they are very low down. However I do plan to take my time, it cost me an arm and a leg so I want to get it just right.

I'll keep you posted.
