Worth upgrading to a 4:1 steel gearbox?

The current gearbox in my Taigen Pershing is the standard Taigen metal 3:1 gearbox (could be zinc or steel, is there a way to tell?). While it does drive nice and slow, the movement seems a little jerky to create the fully realistic tank movement. Would upgrading to a 4:1 gearbox improve the slow speed maneuverability ( i.e. driving in a curve smoothly without speeding up) via the increased torque?
Anyways, I found a few contenders for the gearbox upgrade on this website:
https://heng-long-panzer.de/de/ZUBEHOeR ... R-PERSING/
Should I stick to the Taigen brand 4:1 gearboxes for the best fit or are the Heng long ones just as good? Is there a noticeable quality difference between Taigen and HL in terms of gear boxes?
Thanks for any suggestions!
