Following on from a post I made on one of Mick's (Son of a gun-ner's) recent weave of threads, a bit of 'net rummaging later, and I found this vid on the theme of German Tigers- powered by wood gas. I'd not been aware of how widespread this practice was, but had wondered where all their oil had come from, when they'd lost access to oilfields in Rumania and the East, and were being bombed into oblivion.. :problem: Germany was never oil-rich in the first place..but had some very nice Black Forests :lolno: This Tiger would make an interesting project..

A Holzgas Tiger would be a very cool build.

Indeed...you've been a very busy boy. :D Have to say, that in all the years of rummaging for stuff on the World Wars, and even visiting the Ardennes, Verdun, the Somme and Passchaendaele (Ypres) and Arras (in the 1970s and 1980s..long before they were added as Tourist attractions); I'd never heard of Tanks running on wood gas...
Live and learn, eh?
