Hello I'm new to RC Tanks and I will probably have a few questions to help me get started. Anyway I have just received the pro version of the Sherman M4A3 tank and will be looking to see what changes are possible on this tank.

Welcome aboard. I have a few of the HL Shermans (non are "pro/metal editions - I'm cheap). There are plenty of options out there for the M4 series tanks. Just scroll through some o the fantastic Shermans here. You'll soon discover Frankie, who I think has built many fine variants. His numbers rivals the plants 42-45!
