In the unlikely event that you're anywhere near Loch Ewe.. (Wester Ross..N.W. Highlands, and not the one in 'Game of Thrones' :D ) this coming weekend, then you should make an effort to attend the Loch Ewe WW2 festival.
There'll be a Spitfire Flypast; a Full-size Spitfire replica on display, re-enactment groups, music, weird folk in period outfits (WW2 style, not Highland regalia..but you'll probably see that too..) :lolno: and much more. 'The Thirteenth Guards Poltavaskaya Rifle Division living history group ' will also be bringing their T34/85..
seen here below:

The Weather is uncharacteristically fantastic currently (freckle- inducing Sunshine, and no Highland Mist..), and the outlook is good. Should you be moved to dress up as Ivan, Tommy, G.I. Joe, or Fritz,(or the female equivalents) knock yourselves out.
Loch Ewe is the home of the Russian Arctic Convoy Museum (mine too..) and very beautiful in any weather..
