German tank movement at BAD meetings have been somewhat haphazard, so as a little relaxing therapy, away from my Puma, I thought I would see if the introduction of a panzer specialist would help. This is the Tamiya figure. Unfortunately, he is missing his iconic goggles. I managed to drop them and they seem to have joined all the brass bits that my clumsiness have deposited on the floor. I could not find brass bits so finding something that is transparent ....

I will see if I can make a substitute from some clear plastic.

Hi last night while working on the Panzer 38t I dropped a 2mm brass engine deck post I was very surprised to believe it or not I used a very small broom and carefully swept the work area floor and found it! Just an idea

Great job on Rommel. I have that same kit (came with the balloon tire kubelwagen) and you've inspired me to finally give it a go. I'll be interested to see your fix for the lost goggles. I lose stuff like that all the time, too, and I've found that laying a flashlight on the floor helps to pick out little parts. It kind of puts them in profile and I find it easier to find stuff that way. Another good trick I heard is to take one leg from some pantyhose and put it in a vacuum hose, held on with rubber bands, and that makes a little sack where everything you vacuum up will collect and you can then look through it, hopefully finding the wayward item.

S.S.1947,
I use a Maglite to search for fallen parts if they are not immediately visible. Place the light flat on the floor and the beam will give anything lying there a very long shadow ( like headlights ). Good luck!, Even the small victories count. ;o)
regards,
Painless

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. To say my work room is not the world's tidiest would be an understatement. It is not helped by the carpet, which is sort of tufted, which means things can literally disappear before your eyes. I will continue the hunt. There is some good news though - I have found two things which disappeared a while back ;D .

A a precaution, I shall try my hand at making a replacement.

Yes Mr Surfer the carpet can swallow thing whole right before your eyesImage of course once you toil away and manufacture the replacement pieces the original will turn up stuck to your footImage

Or stuck into your foot!

What Painless said is what I meant about the flashlight, he just describes it better. ;)

I still think the pantyhose/vacuum thing is the best but I suck at explaining it. Maybe it's time for a video. Now where the hell am I going to get some pantyhose?
