Hi Ive had several attempts at painting my basic Heng Long tank crew in the pea dot cammo uniforms . Again and again they have been submerged in the Mr. Muscle to strip of the paint . Infact Im suprised they havent turned into frogmen  . Here is some picts of my attempts . I know there no were near the profesional modeler quality , Ive just done what I can . But even the colours there in now I feel the brown base colour is to dark. I know from my living history days that there was vereations in the pea dot cammo , as I have a repro set which Ive compared to original ones that cost £££££££££££££££  .And Ive seen the different shades all being it they have fadded through the years .

Theres been several failed attempts . I still think the last pict the brown base colour is to dark ?
I know these are not the best paint jobs around but Im open to ideas . I have the modeling book that describes how to paint this style . My model shops shut tom so I will either mix some paint or wait until Tuesday ?

Yep after advice there back in the Mr.Muscle again . Ive stripped the paint of give them a good clean , re done the seams and mproved the side cap which Id altered from the standard HL cap. Will post more picts once Im happy with them.

you are using black as part of the camo which would be wrong I'm extremely busy at the moment but if I get chance over the next week I will host some pictures of the Pea pattern that I have done I have also done Oak Leaf and Plain tree

Hi thanks any helps welcome ,the only black I used is the shirts , headgear and eppulets .Im not so sure they all fitted them to cammo uniforms but Ive seen picts of Wittmens crew wearing them ? The method I used with the exception of the eppulets is in the Osprey book on modeling waffen xx figures. Any helps appreciated thank you.

Ive stripped the paint of my figures again and re done the seams and altered the side cap . I painted  them as close as I could to what it said in the book , but I wasnt happy with them. I was in a WW2 US A/B living history group and some times we would do German so I have a repro set of pea dot jkt and trs .Ive seen many originals and there seams to be vereations in the shades . As for my figures its probaly my camera but I didnt put black in the cammo design . I added the eppulets , I know there was an order forbiding anything being attached to the cammo uniforms with the exception of the subdued insignia . But Ive seen pictures of many late war panzer crews with the eppulates attached to the cammo wrap . Im realy looking forward to seeing pictures of your cammo , when you free. As Im sure it will inspire me .Im leaving them now till Ive seen yours or may have another go .Was going to my local model shop tom , but my cars going for a service so I wont be able to just yet .

  Thanks for the link an excelent site . I had a look at the painted 1:16 figures , very impressive indeed .Ive painted my ones at least 8 times now and they keep going back into the Mr Muscle to be striped .
