I've joined looking for an extrmely cheap turret ring design. I'm working on a cardboard RC tank (cardboard because I don't have the tools to make stuff with wood, nor the money.) and I need a simple and cheap way of making a turret rotation device for my Russian tank I'm building. If you have any ideas please throw them out there.

You can reduce the size of your photos by loading them into a photo editing program and saving them under a different name with reduced size. Alternatively, if you host them on something like photobucket, you can post a link on here. A a third option, you could use something like Imagebatch which will batch process images reducing them to a specified size.

What about a separate wiki I have? I one that I set up so that friends and family could look at my activities.

As Richard (Silversurfer) has suggested, you can use image editing software to reduce the file size of a photo. To fit here, it has to be less that 351 kb altogether
Options:
For Windows, have a quick read of this article about the features the built in Photo app has to offer. You can resize and save photos with it, fairly simply:

If you're using a Mac, then you can resize photos using the 'Preview' feature, or the "Photos' app. With a Mac, you can also mail (under 'share' options) any photo to yourself, and resize it easily that way, then save it for export to RCTW.
Or, as has already been suggested, you can use a third party online service like Photobucket.

This WAS the cardboard hull I had started, but last night my dog got off her leash and attacked it. I had just finished messing around with the track tension, but she got the receiver wire, snapped it off the chip, I soddered it back on, but it will not work, so I'm pretty sure my tank is done for.

What kind of electronics are you running? If you could afford to source these I'm sure you could buy a cheap donor tank on ebay. Even a turret ring alone is very cheap and inexpensive

These are ones I've scavenged from broken rc equipment. I'm trying to save all the money I can for college right now......

From the pictures it looks quite nice. It would be a shame to give up on it now. What parts are needed for the tank to be completed.

Maybe post a list of parts needed and someone on the forum ( or myself) maybe able to help you out. I have many spare parts in my shop as do others.

I'd ship them out for free as long as you can cover the shipping cost.
