Hi
I use a standard 27Meg RX18 on a couple of my tanks with a Turnigy 9X, You need to buy a RCH5L conversation unit from Tanks Australia.
The RCH5L plugs into your standard Turnigy 9X receiver on the first 5 channels and then connects to your RX18 through the normal 3 wire connecting lead.
This gives you all your standard RX18 functions and leaves you the other 4 channels to switch other extra items you want.

Steve, Go to ---
www.rctanksaustralia.com
and click on E-Shop,If you do buy from him he rarely includes instructions BUT if you join the
www.rctanksaustralia.com
Forum
you can download the instructions to almost everything on sale in the shop.
The shop is an RC Modellers paradise for all things electronic.
The ASP control board is probably the nearest thing to a true aftermarket Plug and Play that you can get,
The biggest problem is that your namesake Steve drops stuff almost as soon as he invents things,
I have some of his Vampyre remote sound controllers but you cannot find them anywhere now,
Don't worry about buying from Australia, in my experience it gets to you before stuff from China and some places in Europe and the AUS Dollar is weak enough to make everything a bargain.
Shaun.

Hi Guys. Im afraid long time has passed since the last batch of RC5HL. Rc tanks australia no longer makes them, and its normal, due to most of the tanks out there comes with the fake 2.4 boards instead of the 27mhz ones. Anyway the taigen board is not RX18, and the RC5HL wont work with taigen.
So its time to move to the ASP 2. Wait, I heard clarks, ibus and elmods retailers coming here with videos, lol.
And, Colditz, forget about the tanker software, is outdated and abandoned, so the best thing you can do is to update the radio firmware to the latest version at
www.erx9.com.

Rad like you I am an enthusiastic follower of RC Tanks Australia Forum and Shop But doesn't Steve's genius in thinking up these wonders make you frustrated when without warning he drops them, ??
I have seen stuff on his site I would have loved to buy but by the time I had the money together it had disappeared. Most annoying,
Shaun.

With Steve's you mean Kevin, the owner of rc tanks australia, right?
But, answering you, yes and no.
Im not frustrated because I had the luck of buying them when I needed. I grabed a couple of Asps 2 at the pre order, and one rc5hl at the launch, so I had really good luck there.
But YES,
you are absolutelly right and I must agree with you. Like I said many times here, what he creates is the best by far, and most people who tries it will agree except the other board resellers, but like some people said, being unable to buy it is annoying and complete nosense. I think Kevin should always have some of his products in stock. If I wanted to buy another ASP2 right now I would be at the frustrating side.
Anyway, like he said, he can create whathever we ask him, so if enought people comes together to his forum and ask him to make something for us, he will do it. What he does not want is to produce a lot of a product and having it rotting in the shelves, and I understand it.
I know is not the ideal solution, but its something...

Sorry about the confusion with the names,

I have just bought some "ABER" PE and some PZ4 Sprockets from Steve at Welsh Dragon,
Now that is a man you can rely on,
I can see why Kevin does not want to have a warehouse full of unsold stock but I wish he would give us some warning that he is withdrawing one of his lines rather than finding out the hard way.
At least IBU are taking over the market for Remote Volume controls which was always one of Kevin's better ideas and yet no one seems to know about them except Michael C, me, Gary and a very few others.
Take care.
Shaun.

Rad, I hope that works. I have a 27MHz Panther I want to improve. I used Kevin's contact email to find out whether he is making more ASP2s and have not had a reply. Maybe Max has a contact email?

That's strange... If tomorrow does not answer me just send me a private message and I'll try to contact him for you. He always answers my emails or his forum users shortly.
And as always say: I dont earn not even a single penny or get any discount at RCTA. Im just a big fan os his products. (Some people said that I work for him and thats not true) lol
