Tamiya 1943 Static to RC Tiger 1

Post by PainlessWolf »

Good evening all. Please forgive my first attempts at adding Test video to the Show Off threads of my builds. I've included some standard photos as well to take the edge off of my hackneyed efforts.
Regards,
Painless

Of all the extreme detail things you did on this Tiger, that DAK bucket just has to be the coolest thing of all! I've never seen anyone "hot rod" a bucket before, but you pulled it off really well!

I also liked seeing (and hearing) the tank operating. Very smooth operation and glitch-free, due to the effort you put into it. It will have a place of honor; that's a certainty. Thank you again for all the hard work and talent you expended!

The DAK insignia is excellent

Good morning, Mike,
Once it was wired, the IBU2 opened up whole new arenas of tank performance. There are things I didn't even touch that you can play with by using the SIM card and the provided software. Tank motion, effects and sounds can all be modified. I was really amazed by it all ( coming from the world of HL and Taigen provided RTR MFUs and TXs ). I'm glad you enjoyed it and my attempts at video. I noted at the end of the first Test video that the battery was running low. I'm swapping out between a 3000 and 5000mhz NIMH type battery. Like it's RL basis, this tank is a thirsty Beast. Again, I am so very pleased that everything worked and that you enjoyed it. I'll keep it dusted and charged up to await your arrival for pickup.
regards,
Painless

P.S. The Bucket design was taken from a pic of that logo online.

Mr Herman,
I'm glad that you liked it. ;o) The DAK logo usually used a swastika in place of the DAK but to be honest, I felt kind of weird using it ( silly, I know ) I saw both so went with one that I felt better honored the fighting spirit of those long ago soldaten.

Excellent work.

One question: I see the bolt, but what is the "key" on the muzzle brake?

Good morning, Mr. Philipat,
Thank you, Doc! The key is what ABER called the little alignment piece that dropped into a slot on the muzzle brake and then the bolt was screwed in through it to keep it in place. On the real tank it had something to do with the + ( vertical\horizontal ) placement of the brake on the barrel end.

Painless
