Jagdpanzer IV L/70 (V) Lang

Post by lmcq11 »

Hi,

This is a Jagdpanzer IV L/70 (V) Lang tank destroyer. It is the Profiline resin conversion kit mounted on a Heng Long Panzer IV chassis/inside gears, with Tamiya sprockets, Tamiya tools and Modellino metal road wheels at the front and return wheels. It is a good kit, and the result is one of my personal favorite. As per my usual method, it was dry brushed with MIG black and dark steel pigments, with rust pigments on the tracks and on light metal and joint areas.

Regards, Louis

:O :O . Ok, Louis, at least you can divulge the camera you're using, and maybe say something about the lighting arrangement you generally opt for (soft muted tones). Again, those closeups leap out of the screen to reveal immaculate detail.
A question: what's behind the appearance? That is, what do you have under the hood (bonnet in UK) in terms of motors, MFUs, wiring etc.? They're not static display models are they?

Hi, oh no big secret. I use my IPhone 6 camera... and my workbench light... this is it. As for what is under the hood, my tanks are split in 2 categories; First category, the solid "fighters" (Leopard 2, Panther, KV-1, M1A2, StuH, Sherman(s), KV-2, Jagdpanther...) fully functional to play with my son. Second category are the fragile "runners" (Brummbar, M10, Stug IV...) that have soft resin or fragile plastic parts and are just to drive around (slowly) in the house for 5 minutes. For these, i left the standard Heng Long gears/electronics in place. Those plastic Schurzen and other parts held with superglue would not last long in the field. I have some static 1/16 as well. I counted 37 in total. Yes, I have an understanding wife.
