A little more detail might help, e.g: set up in which model? Is it an RTR model (should have instructions with it..one would think); a conversion from Airsoft? Scratch built project with off the shelf electronics? Etc., Etc., :eh: what type of tank even; you get the picture

I want to set up a HL M4A3 Sherman which is RTR, also would be a conversion from airsoft.

We need to know which electronics you have in the tank. Eg, Clark, IBU, Elmod etc.

If you are trying to convert an HL airsoft to HL IR, you will need an HL apple, an IR Emitter, and the wiring loom (or make one).

Just in case you don't know, it is not one or the other. You can have BB and IR at the same time. It is independent of each other.

The electronics would just be the stock electronics..

Wait, so i can keep the BB and still use the IR system? How?

One thing to mention is that unless you are battling other HL tanks, the IR system would be useless as it uses a different frequency to the industry standard. The only way that you can battle against non HL IR tanks such as those fitted with Tamiya, Clark, IBU or Elmod IR systems is to install one of those boards. I am pretty certain that HL have junked their IR system on new tanks as they realised that they had no future.

I am looking at using an Arduino board to plug into an RX18 that will convert the RX18 to an industry standard IR. I have the board, emitter board and sensor board all here but have been so tied up on other things I haven't got around to setting it up. If it works it will be do-able for around £10-15 on a DIY basis.

Where would i find one of those boards?
