Which micro Servo best for recoil and elevation.

Post by siegfried »

Hi. I am looking into fitting a micro servo for recoil and a elevation servo to a turret for the first time and looking around servos seem really cheap and there are many types, also I do not understand the terminology what does it mean when the say 9g or 1.6kg (is that the weight they could move) The o.12 sec is that duration of servo arm throw movement see example below? I am just looking for a micro servo which will give me a fast recoil movement back and forward. Secondly a good elevation servo which is smooth and slowish for barrel elevation, which make and model servo do you find best and use for these purposes. Post links, ebay etc here please, if you have a recommendation for each type of servo. I have a clark TK22 board. Thanks

9g is the weight 1.2kg is the stall load (rather than torque) and the time is the throw time yes. They're fine, I use the cheap ones usually without issue. Metal gear ones are a good best too invade the barrel gets knocked

Here's are ones I've just bought:

Not much more than the cheap plastic gear ones.

One thing to note, to prolong servo life you want to make sure everything moves as smooth as possible so the servos not stalling at the end of travel. This should mean they won't burn out.
