You know that we're all with you, my Friend. Whatever we ( I ) can do to make this awful thing any easier for you and yours to bear.

I don't usually respond to this kind of report on a hobby site. On this occasion, however, I feel I must offer you Herman, your family, and your son my sincere wishes for the very best recovery possible.

Thanks again for the support guys.....................

If just one person/member that has a second thought about the possible consequences of being in a vehicle in a rear seat especially without a seatbelt & it saves them from this fate, then thats more good than I have words for.

This has changed me, no doubt about it.
I have a very different outlook now, & If anyone thought I was cynical before, there is no scale to measure me by now I assure you.

I have a nest of little birds to feed & shelter that rely on me regardless of life in the big bad world, so the wheels need to turn & life has to go on.
One day at a time, one small achievement at a time.

I really understand now that all those times I told him I was too busy, or was on the phone for work etc is now being called in.

I was reluctant to expose myself here, but again, if any life lesson can be imparted by the members here to those that they love and it perhaps saves another wretched soul from this fate, then my boy is not lost.

Humblest Regards

Herman

I have no words to say. All my thoughts are with your family and your son. But now you need to be strong for him.

The combat will be very hard, but your son need your support.

Fred.

Herman,

My most sincere condolences to you and your family. It's a hard thing for a parent to have to watch dreams and hopes for their son or daughter evaporate and make radical shifts. I admire your determination to move on and make the best of this. Your family needs you and your son needs you. Keep the faith; my prayers are with you and your family.

Thank you for sharing the lesson.

Philip

Terribly sorry to hear this. I really hope the best for him.

My brother is in a wheel chair, and life can be good even so. Just stay strong and make the best of everything.

Hi Fellas.................

You know when you have a feeling things are just stacked up so high, there is no way to get around it ?

Last Thursday just gone, after a distressing phone conference with the expert carers looking after my boy in the specialist unit, I called my brother later that night, who was there at the conference in person, and who has been helping where possible ...............

He did a favour for an overweight, old, truck driver that afternoon and fell 6 meters onto the road from a rock crusher on the back of a trailer.

On Thursday night, as far as I know, I have a son who is crippled, and now a brother that is the same.
Broken pelvis, no feeling or motor response in his legs, ligaments torn from the bone in his leg................

If it is to be believed that everything happens in three's, than all I can say is

WHAT NEXT ?
