I have been planning what i should turn my M4A3 Sherman tank into. i have thought of some things, all of them keep the original shape of the M4A3 hull and still keep the VSS suspension (Hvss is hard to find i hear) So here is what ive come up with, tell me which one you think looks better.

Definitelly not the hearth painted on it.
I love the HVSS Suspension, way nicer than the VSS, the tracks are wider and I dont know, it just looks way cooler to me. About the turrets I like how it looks the second and the third one in your photos. I wanted yo install a turret like that on my Sherman, but after playing with my King tiger and hiting everything with the barrel I will stick with the short 105mm howitzer.

I like the HVSS too but i dont think they are very common parts. and i like long barrels, Makes the tank look bigger than it really is, kinda like what i did with my KV-1, it had a wimpy gun and looked small next to my M1 Abrams, now it looks like a equal enemy because of the long gun.

If you dont have any Sherman yet, you could straight buy the Tamiya sherman. You can find it completelly new for a bit less than 400 euros, so is not a bad price. Of course you can buy the spare parts but they are pricey. If you only want the HVSS Suspension it might be a good idea to buy the sherman kit and sell the rest. There are always people needing the parts that you dont want.
And yeah, I agree with you when you say big gun, big tank, and it indeed looks better (your KV1 is a good example).. But running at home full of obstacles sometimes is a pain.
Anyway I use my sherman like an anti infantry tank instead of an anti tank one, so the short barrel fits in the story. I think the howitzer version was designed for that, so thats great.

Yea the howitzer sherman was made to support shermans with guns meant for anti armor. anyway i dont have much money, neither do my parents, the cheapest option for me a HL, which is fine, i just want something i can use to truly get into the hobby with, my KV is done, and the M1A1 abrams i have is not meant for the hobby. Anyway Which sherman should i go with? should i stay with a 105mm howitzer or change it to a 76mm Sherman

The answer is quite simple... The one you like most!

I'm a huge Sherman fan, infact, its all I do for myself. Between Mato and HL there are quite a few Sherman's to go for if you like the odd cut & shut. Its not for everyone though. Of your three examples, the M4A3/76 would be my choice as its typically American and not Lend-Lease. Its gonna look at its best heavily stowed and weathered with a couple of crewmen at the top.
Good luck whichever you choose
