RC Tank Warfare community hobby forum

A while back, a good friend of mine casually mentioned that he was intrigued by R/C tanks and was toying with the idea of getting one.

We both began furiously reading, watching videos and discussing it between ourselves.

I now have a Taigen M41 Walker Bulldog (12050) and he has a King Tiger (23005) shipping today from FL. I am not a rivet counter, and have not even mounted my accessories yet, as I am busy learning to drive. I think eventually I would like a Leopard 2 or an Abrams, and I will likely get steel, ball bearing 4:1 gearboxes for my Bulldog.

We are both retired.

We are not having much luck finding local activity, but we may bug a local club about forming an "Armored Division". The hobby shop guy says he is selling about one tank per month. I guess I should mention that I am in the state of Connecticut, in the Former North American Colonies.

This might turn into a fun adventure.

When you said you had purchased your Tanks from a Hobby store in Florida I assumed you were referring to "IMEX" the home of one of the most helpful people in our Hobby the celebrated "Eric" but you then said that the dealer was selling one Tank a Month and "Eric" moves something like that in a couple of hours, Going to---

If you do need any help with upgrades he should be on your list of people to talk to BUT we have a pretty knowledgeable group of fellow travellers on this Forum so any questions please ask and if you know stuff then tell us,

Ive walked some of the turf that Mr Washington refused to allow tax to be paid on, and Ive got to hand it to the guy- he knew that nationalist desire was going to prevail over simple Imperialist expansion !

Either way, its nice to know that a very different common language that separates us is no barrier(mostly) to the genuine united nations of tank enthusiasts that is RC Tank Warfare.............

Well sir I would remind you to mark your place, and kindly remember that Mr Washington was a British citizen when he rebelled against a caring and decent manager of the Empire.
His treason was based upon a minor error which any reasonable fellow would have realised was nothing more than a caring parent ensuring that the children knew their place.
By the way not for the first time I have wondered whether you have the blood of Thomas Paine running through your veins, your ability to evade the hangman's noose just like Mr Paine seems to be based not on Moderation but an innate skill in the judgement of good horseflesh.
My present state of irritation is not due to my disappointment with the association Football club that represents England rather it lies with a Cricket team that embraces complacency as something to be welcomed rather than try and attract skilled young players instead of trotting out the same team of losers year after year.
And if anybody on this Forum believes the last few paragraphs well they don't no me werry well do they?

Actually, I think they all would weep to see what we have done with what they left us, but that is for a different forum.

I bought my tank locally, and my buddy ordered his from IMEX, so we have both bases covered. (sort of)

ALL the founding fathers have been spinning in their Graves for years! If they were alive today they'd lead another revolution! This counrty, like most of the world has gone to s--t! And it's your thread if you want to change the subject knock yourself out! But beware as threads that go too deeply into politics usually go to s--t too.
