I worked today but it was very slow so I took the opportunity to have some fun while awaiting calls. I had received a diecast 1/72 scale Dragon Wagon for the holiday just past and I got it out and drilled out the .50 cal and assembled the parts ( 2 ). It looks great, roll and swivels and has working ramps, etc. Highly detailed. I had also received a Hasagawa 1/72 Churchill Mk-1 kit and spent the afternoon assembling it. What great fun! It has been a while since I could assemble an entire tank in one afternoon. The kit is nicely detailed and comes with a commander figure. I did the usual gun bore drill outs and put the tracks on to allow them to stretch a bit overnight. I will paint the tank this weekend and sit it in it's spot on the Wagon'. Neat, small scale stuff to dress up my desk with some British armor.

Very cool sir!

I used to have a BUNCH of those little 1/72 scale tanks and army trucks years ago, no idea what ever happened to them. :'(

Jack,
Thanks for checking it out! I use them for research most often ( as you may know ;o) but this is just for fun desk art. ;o)

Yes, I had that same Dragon Wagon sitting in my office for a couple of years before I retired. Always made my day a little brighter just to see it there. I had an M26 Pershing sitting on the trailer, so it would look like it was doing something productive. Happy New Year to you and yours also! -Mike

Evening all,
A very late morning saw the afternoon hours spent on painting the Churchill. The Canadian paint scheme came out all right but the Hasagawa decals were very old so I was only able to salvage one flag for the bow from the set. I'll go out and find something new and smart, like some dry slides when I get a chance. The figure was detailed but unlike the excellent Trumpeter figures, the detailing was shallow. So this guy is missing his khaki strapping and the less said about his face the better. Another fix up for some brighter ( ideas ) day. So this set is still a w.i.p. Pics:

I went last night to get a few things for the Tiger and remembered that I needed some Khaki Flat to finish up this tiny kit. The figure is complete now with webbing and belt filled in and dullcoat has been sparingly used. The Churchill is back on the Dragon Wagon and ready to take up duty as Desk Art.

C.R.73,
It is a treat to have a Churchill at any scale. Thank you, Doc.
