Well during the festivities I did get a few quiet moments and started on the cutting list for Nashorn kit number 1. All was proceeding smoothly and I'd got to item 4 on the cutting list.

Then comes Boxing Day morning and my daughter noticed that my wife's left foot, ankle and leg had suddenly swollen to alarming size! She had been complaining for about two weeks that her left foot was sore, so a bit of strapping and some ibuprofen cream seemed to have it under control, but no! The great god Murphy had other ideas.

Off to Macclesfield Gen A & E which was well populated with drunken rude and obnoxious louts, where after a 3 hour wait the superbly calm, patient, and caring NHS staff took matters in hand, reviewed the situation, took x-rays, and determined that my wife had a stress fracture of a metacarpal in her left foot, and the doctor wanted to know how on earth she had managed to walk around on it for two weeks without screaming in agony?

To cut a long story short I am now the cook, cleaner, chief bottlewasher, skivvy, and general factotum to a wife who has been told that she must not stand or walk for 6 to perhaps 12 weeks! AAAAAARRGGGHHH! With her fracture boot on she looks like she is gradually turning into a transformer!

So unfortunately my creative time is going to be severely limited for the next couple of months, mind you there is always that time between 11pm and 7am where I could perhaps sneak in some modelling time....... after all who needs sleep?

I can only hope that the New Year brings with it a change of fortune.

So to all of you out there have a Happy New Year and I wish you all health, wealth, and happiness for the year to come.

Hi Alwyn , Hope the Boss gets up and around soon, Better tell her she must have dropped her purse on her foot so being a good husband you better spend whats in it so she dosnt hurt herself if she happens to drop it again.

Nobody ever said that being a man was easy, well perhaps the odd wife or two might have mentioned it,
I do hope your lady recovers in time for the next trip to Spain in the Camper,
By the way without wishing to sound pedantic, I thought "Murphy's law" said "What can go wrong will go wrong",
I thought it was "Sods Law" that said " If anything can go wrong at the most inconvenient time it will"

I think the other version and I'm not sure to whom it's attributed - 'The perversity of the Universe tends towards the maximum'. Anyway on a more down to earth note, my cooking skills will be developed over the coming weeks which may be better than grooming my modelling skills.

Pete I like your thinking about emptying the purse, and having the internet at my fingertips means I can bring the desirables to me whilst fulfilling my housekeeping functions, so the postman and the delivery drivers can be kept busy! I just have to arrange 'babysitting' with my daughter so I can still get to the MAD meetings. I've already got Dave at Forgebear looking for me a couple of Panzer IV chassis for the kits.

Hmmm I'm not sure about that either, the other foot is playing up now. I know people sometimes get legless at Christmas but this is getting distinctly unfunny!! I feel another trip to A & E coming on.

Pretty bad thing if she managed to fracture a bone & not remember doing it
