Dave has two Torro M16s available and I quite fancy one of them BUT I know nothing about them,
Are there any recommended upgrades available,? is the product reasonably robust? Are there any absolute NO-NOs ?
Shaun.

Don't know whether it will help but three pieces of information that I have. 1. It's a 9.6 volt system. 2. Elmod make a board specifically for it. 3. To remove the gun assembly to gain access, the screws are hidden under the radio and there's not a lot of room.

Jarndice,
If you want to get one and super detail it, consider getting the kit by Trumpeter and mixing and matching. I know that Michael recently turned one into an early War Anti Tank Track. I have a build idea to turn mine into an M3 towing the Maxxon quad mount in a powered trailer as was done by some units. Whatever, you decide to do with yours, have fun!

Painless

If you get one it seems like it's a crap shoot as to weather or not the tracks stay on or pop off. My 1st one couldn't keep it's tracks on except on concrete but the second one I got can drive anywhere!
You'll want to remove the hard plastic mud flaps in favor of either fabric or thin rubber as the plastic ones dig into the ground and get it stuck.

What posted twice?
Painless that's a great idea about the Trumpeter kit! I'm going to have to do that when I get around to working on mine. Thank you sir!

I rewired mine to Clark electronics so I can fit 2.4Ghz radio to it. The tracks does pop off quite a bit on mine as well. Here are some pics of it being disassembled and test run with the Clark electronics. Because of the Clark electronics I have to use 2S lipo at 7.4v so it drives a little slower than the stock 9.6v.

Oh my friends what are you doing to me?
I was fine until I got to Richards Hiccups,
I checked out the "Elmod" site and downloaded the PDF for future reference, even I can manage to undo two screws and swap boards, I think I will match it to my Turnigy 9X, A decent Paint job and sit back and relax,
BUT NO!!! Painless suggests a total rebuild using Trumpeters superdetailed kit and as if that was not enough along comes Michael with plans to fit a Field gun ??,
Does this madness never end?
Well this is my plan,
I will do my duty over the imminent festivity, which by the way I have just been told includes blowing up balloons this afternoon

and in the first two weeks of the New Year I shall see if Dave still has any Torro M16s still in stock, and I shall go from there, certainly starting with the "Elmod" board but keeping Painless's suggestion in mind,
Shaun.

Am I being awkward when I expect to use a Debit card or Pay-Pal when buying from a dealer online ?
I tried to buy an "ELMOD" Control board for a "TORRO" M16 as suggested by Richard (Silversurfer) and other members of the Forum,
The fellow only excepts Cheques/Checks or a Bank Transfer,
I could have sworn we were in the early 21st century not the early 20th.
So into the car and off to the Bank, I gave the E-Mail from ELMOD that I had printed off to the nice man in the Bank and he worked out over a period of 15 minutes how to do this, and to add insult to injury I had to pay an extra £9 for the Transfer,
Does Thomas (ELMOD) want to sell his products ?
Shaun.
