It goes on...
Thereafter were both fitting areas with my grind mouse sanded, until it flushes with the wooden stripes.

Image

Here a view a bit closer…

Image

Not so bad; for the first use a good result. The surfaces were later eventually still a bit reworked to receive a more used surface.

Image

After this example it goes still on at this gable side with brick laying, …

Image

…followed again by grouting.

Image

Image

Now it has again to dry, thereafter it can go on at the counter side.

Image

Image

Till then…

I'm curious ...... Did you have a hand in the building of the Colosseum in Rome or the Parthenon.? Athena would be proud of this craftsmanship at the Acropolis!!

This is an absolute testament to your skills as a craftsman and builder!

I'm at the present moment at a loss for words I'm beyond impressed

In between it goes on at the roof gables; the framework was already finished. At the gable sides were thin wooden stripes glued, which will display a cladding with plants. Also these wooden stripes were made from old boards.

Image

At the foot area is the cladding round about 5 mm longer; so receive the complete roof an additionally leading.

Image

By the way were 4 door leaf’s produced, which will built into both gable sides.

Image

Here are the first both door leaf’s mounted with clamps,…

Image

…while the gable side was further closed.

Image

Image

Completed…

Image

Now comes the mounting of the doors; again were door hinges self-made. Copper stripes were cut,…

Image

…rolled out…

Image

…and thereafter folded and sold.

Image

The counterparts were again made from eye screws with collars; into these eyes were little round brass pieces sold.

Image

Both parts were sold together.

Image

Almost finished hinge parts…

Further next time…

After door hinges manufacturing were the hinges at the door leaf’s aligned and mounted. Here the left leaf…

Image

…and here are both door wings finished.

Image

A closer view from the right side and...

Image

…still once left.

Image

A look at the inside of the doors.

Image

Because the eye screws are only delivered in 12 mm length, had they a bit to be sunk in the wood.

Image

Each door receives additionally a square stiffening.

Image

Thereafter it goes on at the counter side.

Image

Finished until the door cutting.

Image

And here is the other gable also complete closed.

Image

Until the next report…

Hello Mark,

thanks for your comment.
The hinges are not so difficult to manufacture and before I something buy, I try to build my own parts.
That's why we call it model building...

After I’d finished the first gable side I’d made a little fitting whether everything fits; pictures here…

…and here.

Image

Thereafter were also at the counter gable side the doors finished.

The next part is about the locking mechanism for these doors.
