Hello from Slovakia

I would like to say hello to whole RC Tank (and non tank) community first.
I was lurking forum around for a while already, but without any RC experience with RC I decided to read a little first.
I have at least some experience with static tank models, mostly 1/35 and 1/72. So I know hot t work with plastic stuff, PE parts, airbrush, etc.

Two weeks ago I got 2nd hand Pz III and Panther G I think in nice condition (both Heng Long according to electronics inside, but sticker on radio controller says Torro - is there any difference? I will post a photos later, so more experience guys will know). Both are stock plastic with airsoft units, but were bought I believe for a nice price 150€ with postage (price for both tanks). Unfortunately with 27Mhz radio, but at least both are versions with crystals (one of my future plans is to install IBU2 PRO so it does not matter now anyway as HL sounds does not fit any of those tanks at all).

I tested tanks with my 2s Lipo 2200Mah battery (I have it for my airsoft gun :D ) now, but I will probably order bigger one for tanks (i need to check which are the best because after I opened PZ III, there is not too much space inside hull). I was also quiet surprised, that both tanks have at least sort of proportional speed, so not only driving one or two fixed speeds (as I expected it would be like that). It would be enough now for driving inside on the floor.

Well, I wrote quite enough now :D seems to be too much for Hello topic :D

Now there will be decision time, which tank will be the first to upgrade, but I will start new topic for it in Build section.

Hi bud and welcome...
Sounds like you're off to a good start..don't worry too much about the batteries, I use 2200 lipos in some of my tanks with good run times. I can recommend the IBU..I've just got into them after years of battling DBC/RX18's although you may struggle to squeeze one into the pzr3...

'Lurking' and learning- probably a sensible approach, before plunging in at the deep end with first post. You're very welcome, and we will look forward to some photos and/or details- as well as the inevitable ups and downs- of your new project. Be warned: there's no turning back now ! :lolno:

It runs quite well, but I am waiting for capacity loss signal (or how to call it), to know when battery need to be charged, so for now I tried only in limited time, because I do not want to destroy battery. IBU2 PRO will be most probably my plan as it seems to he quite nice sound, acceptable price and nice controls

You got me :D that is my usual behavior, to read and learn first. I will make some photos for sure. But most probably I will need some help with choosing right stuff to each tank (to fit everything). I know, couple of year already I am fascinated about all tanks, SPGs especialy for WWII, so I am sure that it is a one way ticket ;D
