Soldering Iron

I am in the market for a new soldering iron and am looking to pay upto about £25, im not the best person when it comes to soldering and i only ever use it on my tanks so i just need a simple iron, so can anybody reccommend a good soldering iron that fits the bill.

That looks nice and simple (just what im looking for

) i found this for the same price but i dont know if the spec is any different

I use the same iron as fv432, nice and light, recommended.

if i was you keith go for the one brel showed as you can vary the heat

What you need to look for is around 15w, so 17w is fine. If its lower than 15w you will end up holding the iron against the joint for too long, and that will allow heat to be conducted to other components, sometimes with dire consequences. Similarly, if you get a heavy duty one it will fry small components on out tanks.
I use a 15w Weller, it's best to stick to a know brand (Maplins are fine) so that you can always get spare tips, they erode over time.
