Hi All
My name is John and I came to this site from a link from forgebear tanks I'm amazed at the amount of friendly advice I've received from members, So to introduce myself, firstly I'm one of the retired (or tired) generation, built RC planes, boats and model railways etc. Now the old eyes are getting weaker and I needed to go up a size? I bought a H/l tiger 1 on a whim, newish board but still 27mg. Had loads of fun with it and decided to do a paint job (hated that grey) so added lots of Taigen bits and set to with the airbrush (not my best subject). Anyway was pleased with the result. Have since added Torro Sturm111, H/l Challenge H/l King tiger. My wife is also interested in RC tanks (I don't have to justify anything when buying bits etc ) and has a H/l Panzer111.
The Tiger 1 now has updated 2.4 ghz electronics as well as the aforementioned paint job. I recently acquired a H/l panther but this seems to be sitting on a tiger 1 chassis? Again 27mg but it runs well and wifey has been using it to get used to RC before the new Panzer. I'm wondering about building something on this chassis like a jagdtiger or a Sturmtiger as I've been building boats in plasticard for years.

Sorry to witter on but I will try to photograph my efforts and post the at a later date, again thanks for all the info and the great ideas this site has given me.

The H/L Panther sitting on a Tiger chassis sounds like the infamous Pantiger. If you put Pantiger into the search engine here you will find out it history. BTW, welcome to the forum.

Welcome, Timid (and tolerant spouse, of course :D: the greatest of all assets! ) there's no need to be bashful here !!! The 'retired' profile is quite common on this forum...so you'll fit right in; along with wifey, of course. Moreover, with your previous experience in modelling, and enthusiasm, I'm sure you'll have a wealth of experience and anecdotes to relate to us.... when you get the hang of things :thumb: That won't take long.

Welcome John. I don't think anyone answered your query about the odd Panther completely. If it is the Pantiger, you should have a Tiger chassis and as far as I know it should take a Sturmtiger upper hull.

Thank you all for your welcoming comments. It is the (infamous) pantiger I've got by the sounds of it, I only paid £20 for it with a 3000 battery so I'm not complaining as it runs very well. The Mrs has been running it around the local park (complete with 1 16 scale L plates) and has had a great time with it. I intend doing a scratch build on the chassis as that is the thing I like doing most, but what I've not decided yet.
Forgot to add M16 halftrack as well, sorry Dave, Old age, infirmity, what, sorry? where was I again? Thanks All John
