I'm sure most of you know this but The Tank Museum have just confirmed a new exhibition about the Tiger family and the headlines is that they are being loaned an Elefant. Its the one from the USA Ordinance museum and its arrival is the next few weeks as well. They are also trying to get a Sturmtiger as well. Looks like it might be a chance to see all the heavies in one place.

Apologies is this is common place knowledge.

You all are welcome! My friend Joe Benson rediscovered this very tank while doing a map exercise on Aberdeen Proving Grounds close to 20 years ago. It was deep in the woods, surrounded by trees, was beat to death and had been sitting there since it was brought back from Europe. He told his CO who had him take him back out in the woods to see it, it was then reported up the chain. Within the week trees were being cut down and removed and it was drug out if the woods. Not sure how long it sat for but this tank can also be seen being restored on the TV show Tank Restoration. Now it looks like it's being shipped back home after all these years, Joe is going to be thrilled when I tell him!
I doubt it'll ever come back though. The tank museum at Aberdeen Proving Ground has been closed for years now, all the armor is being moved and transfered and sadly most will probably be stuck in a warehouse somewhere never to be seen again.
You guys who have a place such as the muesam at Bovington I hope you know how lucky you are.
Enjoy the tank, I'll tell Joe you all said thanks.

I was on that years ago at the APG.
It used to be off on it's own near a railroad siding, nothing in sight. My buddy was building a 1/35 kit and had a ladder...
Enjoy it.
