Trumpeter Jagdtiger...

Hi All,
Well I thought I would tell you about the new Jagdtiger from trumpeter. First is it worth the money! Well I think so up till now!.there is a few problems with it first and foremost the bottom hull unit moulding is warped but it can be straightened. The detail is top notch with everything there!.the lower hull is I think the same as the king tiger but that bit longer for the Jagdtiger.so far the only part I will NOT be useing is the tracks!!they are awful unlike the KT you have to make them up. I spent two and a half days cleaning them up and they were still as tight as a ducks back side >:< . I am useing heng long KT tracks from Dave they fit perfectly and you get the correct sag.there is a lot of cleaning up, not flash but mold lines. The parts count is over 1500!! Spread over 51 sprues plus top and bottom hull units. I will put some pics on later. Will be be putting the red oxide on the lower hull tomorrow. Checking my reference books it seams as if the complete interior is red oxide just the upper hull walls are in ivory as is the complete gun unit. Not made up my mind as to what camo to go for!!! So might end up doing the tank all oxide as they left the factory in the last weeks of the war the only difference was the gun tube was dark grey as from reinmantel factory. So now!!should you buy the kit I'd say a very decisive yes. I paid £224 from E-Models with free post. Brian...

Wait, your Trumpeter King Tiger came with assembled tracks? DAMN! Mine is a bag of a million little parts and pins! I've only just opened mine up to go through it.
Jnewboy was supposed to get the engine out of the kit to make resin copies but he dropped off the face of the Earth after I found the kit.
