Hello Guys,

I am Sören

I was reading here for a few weeks, after I have bought a Tiger and Panther from Taigen. I got a few nice ideas and also started on modifying the tanks by adding better electronics and in case of the Panther, repainting it. I hope to find further ideas and watch those amazing builds in the different sections. I am also looking for recommendations and to learn to get better in modding and painting.

Cheers

Thank you for the warm welcome :)
Basically I started this Hobby only after being linked to rctanks Website on the WoT Forum , a game which I Play actively. And I never was able to pick up a Tamiya RC tank when I was a Boy.

On the paintjob, to be honest, i messed it up completely. I was trying to do a "inverse" "Spaghetti" camo: green and brown Spaghetti on yellow basecoat, inverted to yellow and brown on green. But I wasnt able to do whose fine lines, as I used an Airbrush for the first time. Paint was not always the right viscosity and distance, calm Hands and preassure were not always adequate. So I decided to "thicken" the lines and, especially in case of the Brown ones, to make them meat in Kind of a "web/root" style. I am happy with it. Even when it doesnt match a published historical camo. On the other Hand, I just wanted to try Pigments for dust and sort of. Also trying this for the first time. I never painted such models before, but always wanted to. I bought me 3 of the Valejo AFV kits, yellow, german camo 43-45 and the weathering kit. Added a few bottles of olive and the european dust washes and the Umber and gray Pigments.

The Hen Long plastiv Panther G top is reasonably cheap to swap it out and do repaint if needed. The bottom part, I am really happy wiht. It is slightly dusted by washes and will get dirty by driving in the Yard.

The MG is still in the maintenance box. I took it off for painting and just wanted to go for a ride this afternoon for having a look at it in "real life", not inside the Workshop. I still plan to camo and "sand" the backside. I love the Valejo "european dust" wash ;)

The electronics were swaped for IBU2 pro kits on both the Tiger and the Panther and a set of Visaton Speakers was added in place of the Taigen ones.

By the way Mexmekka, I saw your Panther F, wip. It is really entertaining and giving me thoughts and ideas, although I will most probably never try it that extensive.

I plan to do the Tiger in due time. It´s the same that Tiggr has. Plan to do yellow bas with Brown and green.

Then they have the Hen Long Jagdpanther top for 20€. So I will get that as Basis for a JP built. Found the full lift and traverse Kit at Ludwigs Hobby store and would plan to add that. Any experince on that?
