The plan is to get it running, and see how it sails. This is all new territory for me, I feel more comfortable with something that doesn't have the potential to vanish from sight never to be seen again.

Subs are a different ballgame, you watch your wallet vanish before it even touches the water!! 8O

I had already figured out that this would a prudent measure, not that I am expecting it to sink beneath the waves, but you can never be too careful... :/

Can you put a life raft or RHIB on deck tied onto a reel of line? If/when she sinks you'll then know where to look.....

Thanks for your optimism, lol, I will test it in the bath, and then a shallow pond. The hull won't leak as it is one piece and sealed, the only way water can get in is around the edge of the deck, but I intend sealing that with silicone once I know the rc kit works OK. I fitted the motor mounts, propshafts, and propellers today, will leave it till Monday to let the epoxy dry, then backfill the outer hull with milliput and sand it all smooth.

Pretty much done all of the superstructure now. The drive system is all installed, with just a bit of sanding required around the propshafts. Is it finished, not really, there is still a seperate rescue launch to be built, and then I have to take all of those carefully placed modules off to primer and paint, apply the decals. lacquer it all in, and then weather it a bit.

Very nice Rob, that's a lot of kit for £30, wow, what a bargain.
