It might be worth having a look at their on-line site, if its any distance. At least you can find out whether they have it in stock AND the price. I can't be certain, but I think I got 4 A1 sheets for £10.

Having problems with the internal walls. Can't get a rattle can off the shelf anywhere round here, so I tried airbrushing. What a disaster. Can't get a decent wide spray so it looks a mess. Shall have a go at the external walls while I have a rethink about the inside.

Progress report

I have now coated one end wall with the stone mix. This is the first large wall that I have done, and as you will see I have had a few problems. To cover a large area requires several different applications, moving the stencil each time. I haven't quite got the stencil lined up properly. Also, I have not yet determined the ideal consistency. I made one lot which looked OK, but turned but to be much too sloppy. I overcompensated with the next batch, which accounts for the rather ragged look. Hopefully, I can do better with the next wall.

I mentioned my attempt to airbrush the inside walls. As you can see, there has been an unfortunate side effect. I used Tamiya acrylic, thinned with Tamiya thinners. Obviously, the liquid has been absorbed by the paper coating of the board which has shrunk, causing the noticeable inward lean. On the bright side, when I put the other end wall in place, the bend pretty much disappears.

I am enjoying this, no idea why, maybe it's reading the ramblings of a perfectionist who is building something that exceeds anything I could do by a country mile??

Don't worry to much Richard, it will probably have tank track marks all around it in a couple of weeks !!!

I had a go at the other end wall. Although I say so myself, I think it looks a lot better, though there is still a lot of room for improvement. I had this idea of using an old tiling grout spreader, which has removed a lot of the humps and bumps.

The two tone appearance will disappear as it dries out.

Sadly, I shall be away for the next BAD meeting, so at least the building will last another month!

A little more progress to report. The remaining wall, floor and roof will have to wait till I get back from my holiday in a couple of weeks. I have run out of the stone compound and don't have enough roof tiles.
