Hl Lithium Polymer batteries

It might seem a daft question, but the new HL tanks come with 1800mah 7.4v Lithium Ion batteries. These have a Tamiya plug on, plus a charging socket.
I have searched all over the web and cannot find any matching batteries. It would be good to know that there is a source for them, maybe even larger capacity? If anyone has seen any, anywhere, perhaps they could post up details.
At this point in time, if the original battery goes pop, then the only option is to revert to an Nimh one, but that won't fit the battery compartment, so it would mean cutting it out. The Lithium Ion battery is a lot smaller, but does an amazing job.

Did you take a look to hobbyking? You can put the dimensions you need there.

Is this any good? It has no connectors, so far as I can see.

I haven't had a look at the new H/l ones, I'd guess that all the banggood batts have the wrong connectors..

A few years ago I bought some cheap 18650 li-ion batteries and used to power my 6kg kv1 tank. Found was about half the length of the regular HL batteries so wouldn't be surprised if not what HL are using.
Just a word though for people wanting to try a 18650 battery contains a built in overload circuit which needs to be removed otherwise the tank will cut out.

I was told the tamiya plug connector is a bad connection (high resistance) and when used with LiPo and high drain motors it fused the parts together with the heat.
But considering your tank won't drain any more power now with a Tamiya plug it shouldn't make a difference to us tank users.

Hmm..
Maybe a sc. "Shorty" LiPo will fit. I have to know the exact dimensions of the t90 battery compartiment, though. Dynamite f.i. Sells 2000mah shorty's that are 6.8 by 4.3 by 1.7 cm. They could very well fit. It's the "LiPo Gold-series speedpack" I believe the number is either K140715G515D or MLB2000-30-00-2 there are two stickers with serials on mine. So, not sure which is which. Me thinks the "MLB2000" is the correct one.
They fit my WSN Torro T34/85 really well in the upper layer of the battery box.
Mine came with a T-connector as used in fast rc-cars, so You'd either have to make an adapter, or change the tank's connector to a T-connector. Advantages of that type of connector: more compact, and can stand higher ampères.
All my tanks are converted to T-Connectors nowadays.
