Hallo Chris, Welcome to the Forum,
The first thing you need to do if you want our help in Tank and upgrade dealers is to tell us where you are, The North American landmass ? or perhaps the Antipodes? Europe ? or just maybe the UK? Different countries mean different dealers.
But do not let that stop you asking questions.
Shaun.

Greets from Norway , and welcome
if you want a bulletproof gearbox I find the DKLM-RC gearbox ( here I go again

) to be maybe the best as of now .
Here is my jagdtiger with the gearbox installed running with either the Clark tk24 ore new tk60 , ore the IBU3.
and my panther with the same setup
IBU3 will find over at
http://www.rctankelectronics.com/
and I will have some of the DKLM in stock soon

Welcome csdnet from still too hot and smokey California. I've purchased many upgrades for my Taigen tanks from Dominique at rctank.de in Germany. Good customer service from him.
If you want to upgrade the gear boxes first, you might give the Taigen V2 gear boxes a try. They are steel and have bearings on all of the shafts. I have them in all of my Taigen tanks and they don't require an upgraded control board to use them.
As far as an all metal KV-2, I don't think anyone makes one. My Torro KV-2 has a metal lower hull, suspension, wheels, tracks, etc. but the upper hull and turret are plastic of some kind.
Good luck with your Tiger 1, you made a good choice. Make sure to show us some photo's as you progress through your build/modifications.

Hi Joe!
I wish it was hot and smokey here in South Wales
Funnily enough i ordered a set of steel v2's just after purchasing the tank, however im thinking of eventually going DKLM on it with the IBU3 board and also some new speakers
i was just curious about the full metal versions, aslong as it has a metal lower hull thats fine by me
I certainly will get some pics on here once i have started my upgrades.
Take Care...
